✧ Description
Surface safety valve (SSV) is a hydraulically or pneumatically actuated fail-safe gate valve for testing oil and gas wells with high flow rates, high pressures, or the presence of H2S.
The SSV is used to quickly shut down the well in the event of overpressure, failure, a leak in downstream equipment, or any other well emergency requiring an immediate shut down.
The valve is used in conjunction with an emergency shut down system(ESD) and normally installed upstream of the choke manifold. The valve is remotely operated either manually by push button or automatically triggered by high/low pressure pilots.
When a remote station is activated the emergency shut down panel acts as a receiver for the air signal. The unit translates this signal into a hydraulic response which bleeds the control line pressure off of the actuator and closes the valve.
In addition to its safety and reliability benefits, our Surface Safety Valve offers versatility and compatibility with a wide range of wellhead configurations and production equipment. This flexibility makes it an ideal choice for both new installations and retrofit applications, providing operators with a cost-effective solution for enhancing well control capabilities.
